Look a little CLOSER

"What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce."
- karl lagerfeld
My favourite summer 'read' (if that is the correct term) is Scott 'The Sartorialist' Schuman's collective works on individual style, based on his personal blog and his photography which is shown in both the V&A, London as well as the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

I have always been an avid people-watcher, and this book allows for the unsolicited people watching from the streets of Istanbul to Montauk, the young and old, girl and boy, from the comfort of your own home (or departure lounge if, like me, you are planning on taking it with you on your travels). It is a pure delight just to flick through the pages and see the people of the world, in their own skins, looking genuinely and sincerely beautiful. No fuss, no muss.

So here are a few of my favourites because they are so stunning, and if you love style, it is an inspiring book. Penguin books, £20.
